A Girls Science Plus Arithmetic Club

Founders: Anita Mathew and Tracy Stone

girlSPARC (A Girls Science Plus ARithmetic Club) is an organization dedicated to increasing the number of girls exposed to math, science and engineering in grades K-6.  The program utilizes curriculum from Purdue University’s Women In Engineering’s i2d2 program and was founded by two Purdue graduates and moms of elementary school aged girls.

The goal of the program is to inspire and enable girls at a young age to embrace STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in a real-world setting.  The program  also helps girls build their problem solving skills, embrace mistakes and encourages them to try again in a fun, collaborative and nurturing environment.
