Genetics, Bioinformatics and Systems Biology Colloquium
Thursdays, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
UC San Diego, Powell-Focht Bioengineering Hall, Fung Auditorium
Complete schedule here
Tuesday, February 28th 2012 – 8:30AM-5:00PM
The Salk Institute, Frederic de Hoffman Auditorium
Description
Since the first description of miRNAs in the early 1990s, there has been a steady stream of discoveries on how these small non-coding RNAs regulate gene expression. Please join local academic and industry researchers who will present on the advantages of using miRNA for screening, as a basic research tool, for therapeutics and as means to decipher complex biological systems. Talks will describe in detail how you can bring these capabilities into your lab. The daylong session will be followed by an interactive round table, and a hosted reception. ***Participation is FREE.***Confirmed Speakers:
Dr. Alexandre Colas (Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute)
Dr. Peter Mouritzen (Exiqon)
Dr. Eric Marcusson (Regulus)
Dr. Amy Pasquinelli (Dept. of MolBio, UCSD)
Dr. Timothy Ritty (Thermo Scientfic)
Dr. Irene Munk Pedersen (Dept. of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, UCI)
